Healthier Futures: Funding to Support Impactful Interventions

The research platform is making funds available to support the acceleration of research-led impacts to address health inequalities.

Please note that this funding opportunity is only available to researchers at the University of 黑料网吃瓜爆料.

We are looking to support activities that follow on from published (or in press), peer reviewed research, with the potential to make a significant difference to the health inequalities experienced by communities and individuals, and/or which will enhance practitioner and policymaker capacity to better deliver fairer health for all.

Whether it is the time to translate research findings into stakeholder relevant materials, the capacity to engage with the key people and partners who can take your research to where it needs to be, or an initiative to sustain or monitor ongoing impact of research, we want to fund activities that will allow you to apply research effectively and make a difference.

We are not going to be overly prescriptive. We want to hear from you about what you think the potential impacts from your research, and we want you tell us what you need to make it happen.

What do we want to see:

  • Strong interdisciplinary research already published
  • Engagement with communities and practitioners (existing and potential)
  • A clear pathway to impact
  • For this scheme, the research should have already been completed; this scheme is designed to support impact activities following on from research rather than new research.

Funding of up to 拢10k is available for each project; these funds must be spent by the end of July 2025. There is no lower limit of what can be requested, and if your proposed project would exceed 拢10k, please get in touch before applying, as we may be able to accommodate larger awards.

Eligible costs could include: Research Associate/Assistant time - VCFSE partner costs - PPIE/Community engagement - Event costs - Supplier costs (e.g. outsourced/externally provided services) - Other costs subject to discussion with HF team (be creative!)

Ineligible costs: Indirect costs - Estates

This call is open to all researchers from early career through to Professor; you must have a contract that extends through to the whole length of the project that you are proposing.

Deadline for Round 1 applications: 12 March, 11:59pm. We expect results to be announced in early April.

You can find the application form here:

Do also consider how other colleagues at the University might be able to support your proposed project. For example, if a project has a policy implication in its conclusions, Policy@ 黑料网吃瓜爆料 would be happy to discuss how they may be able to support.

If you have any questions, or want to discuss ideas, please get in touch at healthierfutures@manchester.ac.uk
